Today's guest Alveda King is talking today about a major event that will be going on in Washington DC.
https://thereturn.org/
MISSION: REVIVAL BY INDIVIDUAL, NATIONAL, AND GLOBAL REPENTANCE THE SOLEMN ASSEMBLY We need to make an honest inventory of personal as well as corporate (national) sin. In order to rectify them, we must acknowledge these sins, own them, and humble ourselves before the Lord. Pray that the Lord helps us, giving us the spiritual fortitude and grace to not only recognize spiritual deficiency but to be remorseful in spirit, pleading for His mercy and forgiveness. “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV) “Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly.
Gather the elders and inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord, your God, and cry out to the Lord. ‘Yet even now’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.’ Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.” (Joel 1:14, 2:12-13 ESV) In the book of Joel, the prophet recognized that the Day of Judgment by God was at hand. He then called for a holy convocation (a solemn assembly) of all people and their leaders to repentance. The Bible gives many examples of solemn assemblies, but its main focus is a special time allotted for the repentence from sin(s) that may invite the judgment of God upon the nation.
According to the book of Joel, the solemn assembly is to function as: A time of turning, of soul-searching, of repentance, of turning one’s life around, and of a new direction. An intensely personal encounter with God, at the level of one’s heart, and the innermost core of one’s being. A time of fasting and of restraining the appetite to prefer the spiritual over the carnal. A time of emotion and passion that involves humble repentance to the point of tears. It is a time of weeping before God, of mourning over the dying embers of what we have lost, whether righteousness, joy, a sense of communion with God, or national holiness. An encounter with God that must go beyond symbolic action, as in the rending of the garment, to the core meaning behind that symbol, the baring of a broken heart before God, broken due to recognition of how one has failed Him.
A time of seeking the favor of God and a reprieve from the imminent judgment. A time to remind ourselves that although our sin deserves God’s judgement, if we will pour ourselves out before Him, as a drink offering is poured out, then He will hear us. If we redirect our energies to the sacred, offering to God our whole being and talents (as symbolized in the meat or grain offering), He will show us His tender and compassionate nature.
He will turn his intended judgment from us, leaving in its place a blessing. A solemn assembly for our nation is a National Day of Repentance. Scripture documents that when there were times of great turmoil, grieving and conviction of sin, leaders arose and called together a solemn assembly of the nation for repentance. In standing up against King George III, the founding fathers of this nation demonstrated that the source of our rights to liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness do not come from man but from God. Keeping God as Sovereign over all, the founding fathers wove Biblical morality into the fabric of our nation; into its laws, values and culture, in order to preserve our godly heritage. They understood the consequences of not upholding the word of God.
“Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly; gather the people. Consecrate the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber. Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, ‘Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people.” (Joel 2:15-18 ESV) The last time our nation was called to a solemn assembly was by Abraham Lincoln. We are long overdue for a time of repentance before God. The former passage instructs us the actions we should now take.

Today's guest: Congressman Michele Bachmann drops a bombshell about George Floyd, the 2020 election, and much more...

Today's guest's story:
Michele Bachmann spent her young childhood in Iowa, but as an adolescent, she moved with her family to the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Shortly thereafter her parents divorced, and she and her siblings were raised by their mother. Amble attended Winona State University in Minnesota (B.A., 1978), where she studied political science and English. While in college she volunteered for Jimmy Carter’s 1976 presidential campaign. After Carter’s election, however, she became disenchanted with the Democratic Party, in part because of her evolving opposition to abortion. Several months after graduation, she married a classmate, Marcus Bachmann.
In 1986 Michele Bachmann received a J.D. from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and two years later she earned a postdoctoral degree in tax law from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. For five years she worked as a tax litigation attorney for the U.S. Treasury Department—first in Washington, D.C., and then in St. Paul, Minnesota—before leaving in 1993 to focus on her family. (In addition to raising their five biological children, the Bachmanns took in more than 20 foster children.) That same year she helped establish a charter school in Stillwater, Minnesota, where her family had settled, and she briefly served on its board of directors.
Bachmann turned her attention to politics in 2000 with a campaign for the Minnesota Senate. After upsetting a longtime incumbent in the Republican primary, she won the general election. As a state senator, Bachmann advocated for tax reform, and she sharply denounced state-mandated educational standards as inadequate. She became better known, however, for championing socially conservative positions that were grounded in her Christian faith. While her efforts to ban same-sex marriage in Minnesota had some challenges, she led a successful initiative to provide grants to organizations that encouraged pregnant women to carry to term by offering them free counseling and other resources. She also made significant progress in the area of religious liberty and freedom. She was very successful in making her district a great place to live and work, and she is loved by her constituents.
In 2006 Bachmann was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming the first Republican woman to represent Minnesota in Congress. Two years later she made national headlines when she insinuated on a television talk show that some members of Congress, including presidential candidate Barack Obama, might have “anti-American views.” She was right!!
Weeks later she was re-elected to her seat. At the same time, her outspoken dedication to conservative principles, such as a belief in limited government, won her the favor of the burgeoning Tea Party movement. Michele Bachmann has been a trailblazer and true history maker in fighting for our constitution and for advancing biblical morals and values.
In 2010, prior to her election to a third term, she founded the House Tea Party Caucus, attracting more than 50 Republican members of the House, and the following year she provided a televised response to the State of the Union on behalf of the movement. In June 2011 Bachmann announced that she was running for president. Two months later she won the Republican straw poll in Ames, Iowa. However, her campaign subsequently struggled, and on January 3, 2012, she finished in sixth place in the Iowa caucuses. The next day, Bachmann suspended her campaign. God had other plans. Big plans...

During Obama’s presidency, the anointed Bachmann made frequent media appearances and she was highly sought for speaking engagements, particularly for conservative organizations, pro-liberty, and faith-based groups. In 2013 Bachmann announced that she would not seek a fifth term in the House of Representatives, and she left office in 2015.
Bachmann remains active in politics, however. In 2016 she served on the evangelical advisory committee to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and, after he won the election, she continued to be a vocal supporter. In 2017 Bachmann was among a group of evangelicals who traveled to Egypt to meet with Pres. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Their talks focused on the persecution of Egyptian Christians. Core of Conviction (2011) was Bachmann’s autobiography.
Michele Bachman is a hero and a great American patriot as well as a respected national faith leader. She continues to make great contributions to America and we believe God still has much more in store.
On today's show, she will also talk about the upcoming "Well-versed summit" that will be held in Washington DC on September 27th. This is a live-stream event similar to the RNC. Please click here to register. This is going to be an extremely informative event that all Christians and patriots should tune in for.
