The Bible has quite a lot to say about hope. Biblical hope has as its foundation faith in God. The word hope in English often conveys doubt. For instance, “I hope it will not rain tomorrow.” In addition, the word hope is often followed by the word so. This is the answer that some may give when asked if they think that they will go to heaven when they die. They say, “I hope so.” However, that is not the meaning of the words usually translated “hope” in the Bible. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word batah and its cognates has the meaning of confidence, security, and being without care; therefore, the concept of doubt is not part of this word. We find that meaning in Job 6:20; Psalm 16:9; Psalm 22:9; and Ecclesiastes 9:4. In most instances in the New Testament, the word hope is the Greek elpis/elpizo. Again, there is no doubt attached to this word. Therefore, biblical hope is a confident expectation or assurance based upon a sure foundation for which we wait with joy and full confidence. In other words, “There is no doubt about it!”One of the verses in which we find the word hope is Hebrews 11:1. “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” This verse at the beginning of the faith chapter (Hebrews 11) carries with it all of the confidence that comes with knowing for sure, with no question, what we have been promised by God in His Word. Our faith is confident assurance, for it is founded upon the Rock of our salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ. All of the actions of the heroes of the faith recorded in Hebrews 11 were made possible because they had this faith based in their confident assurance or hope in God. As believers, we are also called to give an answer for the hope that is within us to any who would ask (1 Peter 3:15).Therefore, biblical hope is a reality and not a feeling. Biblical hope carries no doubt. Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises. Hope or confident assurance can be ours when we trust the words, “He who believes on Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47, NKJV). Accepting that gift of eternal life means our hope is no longer filled with doubt but, rather, has at its sure foundation the whole of God’s Word, the entirety of God’s character, and the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"Aliens and a Great End-Time Deception?"

Book: www.PastorToddBook.com
We know that the events surrounding the end times, as described in the Bible, will include a powerful deception (Matthew 24:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:11). Recently, interest has been rising in the theory that this deception will include alien beings supposedly from another planet. Although the Bible gives us no word about whether or not aliens exist—there is no inclusion of them in the creation account in Genesis, and no mention of them elsewhere—the Bible does tell us about visitors from another world—the spiritual world.
Since the beginning, instances of demons (fallen angels) visiting the earth have been witnessed and recorded. We know from Eve’s encounter with Satan that demons are interested in monitoring (and altering) the progress of humanity. They want to be involved, with the goal of drawing humanity away from the worship of God and turning mankind’s attention instead to them. Another notable instance of their interaction with us is found in Genesis 6:4 with the arrival of the “sons of God.” The Genesis account states that these powerful beings had sexual intercourse with women and produced a super race of beings known as the Nephilim. This sounds like the stuff of science fiction, yet it is right there in the Bible. There are striking similarities between this account and the accounts of other ancient cultures. The writings of the ancient Sumerians, for example (who were the first to produce a written language) mention the presence of the “Anunnaki” who were deities that came from heaven to dwell on earth with men. It is also interesting to note that the Sumerians’ gods often came to them in the form of snakes. These accounts, seen alongside the amazing things created by ancient man, make it possible to theorize that demons, in the form of beings from another world, came to earth, bringing spectacular wisdom and knowledge to men, and “intermarrying” with their daughters in an attempt to draw men away from God. We already see from Eve’s experience with the serpent that demons will use the temptation of superior wisdom to ensnare man and that man is very susceptible to it.Could the end times include a similar alien deception? The Bible doesn’t directly address the issue, but it is certainly plausible, for a variety of reasons. First, the Bible tells us that the world will unite under the power of the Antichrist. In order to achieve an agreement between all the world’s religions, it would make sense for the “uniter” to come from an entirely new source—an extraterrestrial source. It is hard to imagine one religion becoming head of all the others, unless new, unearthly knowledge were the source of the appeal and power of the new “religion.” This would be in keeping with past deceptions and would be a very effective way to deceive a large number of people.Second, this deception could provide an answer to the problem of earth’s origins. The scientific theory that the evolution of life on earth was spontaneously generated still has no answer for life’s beginnings. Many claim that there is evidence for a “big bang,” but there is no explanation for what caused the supposed big bang to occur. If alien beings arrived and gave us an extraterrestrial explanation for life on earth, the origins of the world religions, and even the origins of our planet, it would be very persuasive. That said, we should not fear. The Lord has said that He will not leave us or forsake us, and that He will protect us (1 Kings 8:57; Matthew 10:31; Isaiah 41:10). Demons / angels are not omnipotent, nor are they omnipresent. Jesus said that in the end times His appearing would be like lightning—easily visible to all. He said to be wary of any being that says “I am the Christ” or any group that says “He’s over there” or “He’s in here” (Matthew 24:23-24). He said that vultures gather around a dead body, meaning that if you see a group of people gathering around someone claiming to be Christ, that person is death and a false prophet. We should be wary of any person or being that produces signs and wonders without biblical fidelity or the presence of obedience to the Lord Jesus, anyone who provides a way to unite the world religions or governments (Revelation 13:5-8), any being that promotes unnatural sexual relationships (Genesis 6:4; Jude 1:6-7), and of course, any person who denies that Jesus is God (2 John 1:7). Furthermore, anyone who presents a “substitute” Jesus, who represents Him as “a god but not the God” or who claims He was merely a good teacher, simply a human, or even a super-human or an alien creature, is a deceiver.Lastly, if demons manifesting as aliens are part of the end times, we should remember that they, too, are created beings subject to a sovereign God and ultimately answerable to Him. Whether in alien form or not, the descriptions of demons in Revelation are frightening (Revelation 9:1-12), but we should not fear those who can only kill the body. Instead, we should only fear the One who can kill the body and the soul in hell (Matthew 10:28). No matter what happens to us on the earth, we should trust that the Lord is the Savior, Redeemer, and Protector of the souls of those who put their trust in Him (Psalm 9:10; 22:5).

"Testing the spirits" to discern if something is holy is an important concept in Christianity, based on the teaching of the Bible. The primary reference for this is found in 1 John 4:1-3, which says: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world." Based on this and other biblical teachings, here are ways to "test the spirits": 1. *Confession of Christ's Lordship*: The spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ as Lord, who came in the flesh, is from God. This is a foundational truth in Christianity. 2. *Alignment with Biblical Teaching*: Anything that contradicts the core teachings of the Bible is not from God. This requires Christians to be well-versed in Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17). 3. *Fruit of the Spirit*: Galatians 5:22-23 describes the fruit of the Spirit. A spirit that produces love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is consistent with the Holy Spirit. 4. *Promotion of Righteousness and Truth*: 1 John 3:7-10 emphasizes that the one who does what is right and loves their brother or sister is born of God. Spirits that lead towards unrighteousness or deceit are not of God. 5. *Consistency with the Character of Christ*: Any spirit or teaching should be measured against the character and teachings of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Gospels (Philippians 2:5). 6. *Edification of the Church*: The spirit that works for the edification, unity, and growth of the Church in love is from God (Ephesians 4:11-16). 7. *Inner Witness of the Holy Spirit*: For those who are believers, the Holy Spirit within them bears witness to the truth. As Romans 8:16 says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” In summary, to test the spirits, one must be grounded in the truth of Scripture, discern the fruits and outcomes of the spirit or teaching in question, and rely on the inner guidance of the Holy Spirit. This process helps Christians discern what is truly holy and from God.

“The Path of Hope"
Today we gather to explore a profound journey outlined in the scriptures—a journey on the path of hope. Anchored in the powerful words of Romans 5:1-5, we discover how this path begins with the full assurance of our righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Let's delve into these words from the New King James Version:
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
**Full Assurance in Christ:**The path of hope begins with a steadfast belief in our justification through faith. We are right with God not because of our deeds but through faith in Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 2:8-9 declares, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." This assurance is our foundation.
**Righteous in Tribulation:**In the midst of trials and tribulations, God sees us as righteous. James 1:2-4 encourages us: "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." Our trials are not signs of God's displeasure but opportunities for spiritual growth.
**Certainty in Our Righteousness:**It's crucial to be unwavering in our conviction that we are right with God. 1 John 1:9 assures us: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Our certainty in His forgiveness and righteousness fortifies us against doubts.
**No Fear in Love:**As the church of Jesus Christ, we must embrace that God is not angry with us. Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Even when we are bruised and wounded, His love remains steadfast.
**Rejecting Regrets and Anxiety:**Living with regrets and fear undermines our journey on the path of hope. Philippians 4:6-7 instructs us, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." We are called to a life free from the bondage of anxiety and regret.

Today we gather to celebrate a profound truth: through Jesus, the gap between God and man has been bridged. His sacrifice on the cross, the blood He shed for us, and the inheritance He has secured for us, mark us as more than conquerors. In a world often shadowed by darkness, let us be reminded that we are on the winning team, the team of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. The Bridge Between God and Man
Jesus Christ, by His life and death, has bridged the vast gap between humanity and God.
John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" Through Christ, the pathway to the Father is open to all who believe.
2. The Power of the Cross
At the cross, a divine exchange took place.
2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Christ took our sins upon Himself, granting us righteousness in return.
3. The Significance of His Blood
The blood of Jesus is central to our redemption.
Ephesians 1:7 states, "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." His blood is the seal of our forgiveness and freedom.
4. Walking in Our Inheritance
In Christ, we have received a glorious inheritance.
Romans 8:17 declares, "And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Our inheritance is eternal life and all the promises of God.
5. Overcoming Through Faith
We overcome the world through our faith in Jesus.
1 John 5:4-5 says, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
6. The Assurance of Victory
In Christ, we have the assurance of victory over the enemy.
James 4:7 instructs us, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Our submission to God is our strength against the enemy's attacks.
7. Empowered by the Spirit
As Pentecostals, we emphasize the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 proclaims, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." This power enables us to live victoriously.
8. Living in His Victory
Christ's victory on the cross is our victory. Romans 6:14 assures us, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." We are freed from sin's dominion and live under the grace of Christ.
9. Standing Firm in Faith
We are called to stand firm in our faith, regardless of life's trials.
1 Peter 5:8-9 exhorts, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith."
10. The Promise of His Presence
We are never alone in our battles.
Matthew 28:20b comforts us, "And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Jesus promises His constant presence, guiding and sustaining us.
In Christ Jesus, we have crossed over from death to life, from defeat to victory. His blood has sealed our redemption, and His Spirit empowers us to walk in the fullness of our inheritance. As members of the Body of Christ, let us hold fast to this truth, living out our faith with boldness and confidence. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Let us rejoice and step forward in victory, for we are indeed on the winning team. Amen.

How Important Are Alignments? | Todd Coconato Radio Show
In today's broadcast of the Todd Coconato Radio Show, we talk about alignments and why is it so important that Christians understand why we need to be wise in who we align ourselves with.

Alignments are important…stay true to who you are.
A word of caution in today’s Christian ministry environment. Stay true to your calling. Don’t get caught up in the flesh.
We witnessed for years now, in the world of social media, that what once was the pressure for a pastor to have a big church, has now translated into the pressure for a pastor or ministry to have a large online following. It’s not a bad thing when used to spread the gospel, but it can become an idol or ensnare anyone if they are not careful. I want to talk about this a bit.
When I was young, I would remember pastor friends being discouraged when they would compare themselves to those who had much bigger churches. Many denominations would even greatly favor pastors with large ministries, platform them, and sometimes ignore or even belittle those who had smaller congregations. This would grieve my heart as I know many of those with smaller congregations were preaching a very powerful anointed message and stayed true to the Word. God used them and just because they didn’t have a “big church”, it didn’t mean they didn’t make a huge impact on their community and in saving souls and raising up true healthy believers.
Now, I see similar things happening when it comes to large online followings. While some with large followings are absolutely raised up by God due to their obedience, sincere heart, and the anointing of their message, not all people with large followings are equal. I am thankful and honored to know some personally who are the absolute real deal. Just as some mega-churches are real and others compromised their message in order to allure their followers into the “wide gate” theology, so too are some online people using methods other than God to gain power, influence, and wealth. This is why discernment is key.
Here is the warning. Be careful who you align yourself with. It’s tempting to want to partner with those who have large numbers as it would appear that’s God’s hand. Some people actually think this will help their ministry. This could be the case if it’s a God alignment, but it could also be a trap! Remember the devil is often slow in how he creeps in. He can use this to get a sincere minister/ministry off course by aligning them with someone who is compromised. You are much better off to have a small or midsize ministry with integrity than to compromise by entering into an alignment with someone who has other motives. Then you have to deal with the consequences that will eventually catch up to those who do compromise. The devil's plan is to distract, disrupt, accuse, and derail. Be wise.
As we have learned many times before, just because something is big now, doesn’t always mean it will last. It all depends on what ground it’s built on. Is it built on the solid rock? Is there leaven?
What’s critical is the integrity and consistency of staying doctrinally sound, God-focused, humble, in the right heart and spirit, and not falling victim to adding things that produce temporary results. In other words…hype. It muddies down the gospel and creates open doors for the enemy. It also is not sustainable.
When praying about who to align with, make sure their motives are pure. True Kingdom alignments are healthy, lasting, and safe. Fleshly alignments fall apart, create division, and can end up bad.
Don’t be fooled into thinking followings equal anointing. They can, but not always. Let God order your steps and guide your path. Steward what He has given you wisely. Stay in His presence and be about His business. The rest will fall into place. Just like God has used smaller churches as the backbone of sanity and sound doctrine for years, you don’t have to have a large online following to be anointed and used by God. Don’t compare yourself or fall into the pressure.
Don’t align as a career move. Align with those whom God has put in your path to bring Him glory. Don’t compromise your message. Guard the anointing. Stay true. Be real. God will honor you for doing this and you will have a lasting Kingdom impact and ministry and not just become a temporary blip.
Align with soul winners who truly love, fear, and serve the Lord. That’s the key.
